BREATH - A Thought & Play On The Word...

[edit]

“Life is not measured by the breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away,” is a phrase one may have heard but rarely have they ever tried perceiving it as many are busy being a bee, striving to do or achieve everything.

Every instance has layers to it, so does the creator of all instances, LIFE.

Margaret Atwood once stated regarding our current environment, “Nature is not what surrounds us, we surround it”. How true this holds where the breath of fresh oxygen by one tree, is dominated by the toxicity of carbon monoxide on all sides. From the freshness of rain drenched mud and salinity of the ocean to the liberating wind through our locks and the warmth of sun rays on our face, all compose of the vibrance and contribution to life on earth, without the life of nature, humans are nothing. Thus their life, the animals and plants, are solely to be cherished and rightly so.

While nature proves the importance of their life, a mother teaches us how to cherish life. But does only giving birth make one a mother ? No, as a motherly instinct or feeling is created when we feel dearly for someone, mostly younger, with every drop of our blood.

Rescuing a puppy from being crushed under a car would make that innocent being feel you are god, but all you did was truly cared and loved that being, gave it the deserving life with all your life. There! Now you’ve give life and light by being a lovely mother to that little bundle of joy.

Humans are social beings and inherently strive for external emotions or life to feed our soul and cinema or photography do that exquisitely. Our life without entertainment and images equals to that of a prisoner in dungeons. While creating a film, all the cast and crew ponder over is that the character should be so full of life, not necessarily happy, but someone who the audience would like to interact in flesh and blood. Something like photography where the camera can capture the essence of ones life just through their eyes. Like in a jungle, you can see the tiger and its majesty, but you can only truly connect with them if it's through their lifelike eyes through photography.

Let there be life, let there be light, cherishing others as well as ones life is the most important mantra one should recite in every breath of privilege given.
