File:Les filles.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

Hi Igor. Following your message the fact that you own this painting doesn't mean you own the copyright on it which is with the painter or, if deceased, with his heirs. So we need Gladys Levier's permission via COM:OTRS. --Patrick Rogel (talk) 21:42, 26 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
(Transfered from e-mail) Patrick, I'm new to Wiki, so can you help us with this:
1. As I understand every online auction is publishing photos of art even if they don't get permissions from relatives. It is ridicules to bother relatives getting from them permission for every work artist done, as each good artist made on average several thousand paintings, there are millions lithographs of Picasso and Dali and photos of them are flooding internet.

Auctions and museums are publishing art photos in catalogs without permissions from relatives...

2. Surely if you insist, then Gladys Levier will be happy to give permissions for this work, but she is in France and she is 77 and if you can provide her a very simple instruction how to do it in bulk for many works, then we will do it no questions. We will relay appreciate your help as we are preparing this page for 100 anniversary of Charles Levier that will take place exactly one year from now on Jan 26 2020. Sincerely.
First please use (d) after my signature to acess my talk page instead of sending me an e-mail. It's not ridiculous; it's the law: please refer to Commons:Copyright rules by territory and read especially the France section. You're wrong: online auction and museums are always publishing with permission from the copyright holders, and the right to copy (copyright) always belongs with the artist, not the owner of the artwork. Everything is explained in COM:OTRS. Kind regards, --Patrick Rogel (talk) 22:59, 26 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
