File:WikipediaDegrowth.png has been marked as a possible copyright violation. Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Traditional copyright law does not grant these freedoms, and unless noted otherwise, everything you find on the web is copyrighted and not permitted here. For details on what is acceptable, please read Commons:Licensing. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules useful, or you can ask questions about Commons policies at the Commons:Help desk. If you are the copyright holder and the creator of the file, please read Commons:But it's my own work! for tips on how to provide evidence of that.
The file you added has been deleted. If you have written permission from the copyright holder, please have them send us a free license release via COM:VRT. If you believe that the deletion was not in accordance with policy, you may request undeletion. (It is not necessary to request undeletion if using VRT; the file will be automatically restored at the conclusion of the process.) Warning: Wikimedia Commons takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

- I obtained the photo from depositphotos.com. I added the text. I asked depositphotos.com whether I was allowed to import the resulting image into Wikimedia Commons, they replied that under the standard license this was permissable. Bbwilliams (talk) 09:38, 6 October 2023 (UTC)
- Then you shouldn't have written "own work" and provided the precise source and the name of the photographer. Only then we can evaluate whether it is Commons-compliant. --Túrelio (talk) 09:44, 6 October 2023 (UTC)
- Apologies, I shall attempt to change that misleading information. I do not use this tool often. Bbwilliams (talk) 09:57, 6 October 2023 (UTC)

- I have nominated it for deletion, I cannot see how to fix the problem. However I shall try to import it again explaining the history. Bbwilliams (talk) 10:08, 6 October 2023 (UTC)
- Hmm, as it had been tagged as copyvio, it would be better just to change the wrong entries than trying the re-upload after it has been deleted. Just go to File:WikipediaDegrowth.png, click on the "edit" link above the description box and correct the entries, as outlined above. Thereafter, I can remove the copyvio-tag and check its copyright-status. --Túrelio (talk) 10:43, 6 October 2023 (UTC)
- I have managed to get the source shown as the original source of the photo. I am still shown as the author, how do I explain that the text has been added? Bbwilliams (talk) 12:25, 6 October 2023 (UTC)
- Same as changing the source-entry, only now the author-entry. First should come the name of the photographer to which you might add (photo), then your username to which you might add (text). --Túrelio (talk) 15:21, 6 October 2023 (UTC)
- Hmm, when I went to https://depositphotos.com/de/portfolio-1229718.html?content=photo, I didn't see/find the underlying original image, even not when completely scrolling down. You need to link to the page showing (only) the image, which you used. --Túrelio (talk) 15:17, 6 October 2023 (UTC)

- In between, the image has been deleted by a colleague of mine, acting on the copyvio-tag. But that is not a problem. If you provide the URL for which I asked and if the displayed license is Commons-compatible, I can easily restore the image. --Túrelio (talk) 18:28, 6 October 2023 (UTC)
