Talk:Batemannia colleyi

I photographed this plant in Suriname, in the 1970's. It was then identified as B. colleyi, and this is later confirmed by the photograph in Orchideeen van Suriname - Orchids of Surinam (Paramaribo 1986) by Marga C.M. Werkhoven, Curator of the National Herbarium of the University of Suriname (photo page 93, description page 86). Also, according to the CHECKLIST OF THE PLANTS OF THE GUIANAS, 1997 [1], page 155, B. colleyi is endemic to Suriname.
However, the several illustrations and photos of herbarium specimens (all on the site of the "Swiss Orchid Foundation at the Herbarium Jany Renz" (link: [2]) don't look at all like my photos!

Who can help? Thanks a lot! Edit this page (+ comment, above) or contact me on my talk page: User talk:Maarten Sepp.

Identified as Batemannia armillata Rchb.f. (1878). See: Notes sur la présence en Guyane française de trois espèces d'orchidées par Roger Bellone in: Richardiana. The quarterly journal dedicated to orchids, published by Tropicalia. ( here ), with photograph.
