English: Pancrazio Buciunì (sometimes spelt as "Bucinì", (28 June 1879-30 January 1963) was a model native from Taormina. Employed since circa 1893

by Wilhelm von Gloeden as his "tuttofare" (housekeeper) –as some visitors to Gloeden's house witnessed–, then he became the photographer's eventually lover, his assistant in the laboratory and one of his pupils. By the time of Gloeden's death in 1931, Buciunì was named as the heir of what had been left his estate in Taormina. He bore the nickname "Moru" or "Moro" ("the Moor") because of a purported dark complexion. When Buccinì was young, he also posed for some Gloeden's photographs, which have not certaintly identified yet. It was suggested by some that he might be this dark-skinned model, but anagraphical reasons make this identification impossible, as this model appears in photographs dated from the early 1880s.
Buccinì also declared he shot some nude photographs himself, which must have entered Gloeden's catalogue, or which have been destroyed.
