English: North Island is the northernmost island in the Houtman Abrolhos, a coral reef archipelago in the Indian Ocean off the coast of Mid West Western Australia. Located about 14 km (9 mi) from the nearest island group, it is one of the largest islands in the Houtman Abrolhos, and one of the few to support dune systems. It has relatively diverse flora dominated by chenopod shrubs and fauna that includes the introduced Tammar Wallaby, around seven species of reptile, and about 15 resident bird species. Français : L’île du Nord ( au large des côtes de la région du Mid West en Australie-Occidentale et à 109 au nord-ouest de la ville de Geraldton. Située à environ 14 km du groupe d'îles la plus proche, c'est l'une des plus grandes îles de l'archipel et l'une des rares à posséder des dunes. Elle possède une flore relativement diversifiée dominée par des arbustes chénopodes et une faune qui comprend le wallaby de l'ile Eugène introduit par l'homme sur l'île, environ 7 espèces de reptiles et 15 espèces d'oiseaux résidents.
