V. William M. Paxton's "A String of Pearls"

[edit]

By Frederick W. Coburn

[edit]

In the admirable collection of Ameri-
can paintings which is being formed
by H. N. Redman, of Boston, "A
String of Pearls," by William M. Paxton,
has found an especial place of honor,
hanging, for the present, with several
other treasures of this enthusiastic con-
noisseur, on the walls of the New England
Conservatory of Music. The canvas
undoubtedly deserves critical commen-
dation by reason of the succesful exe-
cution of a very complex and difficult
motive.
