Hello @MARKELLOS @Orange-kun @Geraki — as part of https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T258552 we are uploading individual SVGs for both the wordmark and the tagline of Greek Wikipedia. In doing so I noticed that the tagline here does not match the tagline currently on Greek Wikipedia. Could one of you perhaps clarify which version of the tagline is correct/preferred and should be used going forward? AHollender (WMF) (talk) 16:52, 24 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The tagline for Greek Wikipedia does not match the SVG on Commons
Η and η are capital and minuscule versions of the same Greek letter so there's no difference in reading it. I'm not native Greek speaker, but you can check Greek alphabet. So, Greek alphabet is one of 3 major European alphabets along Latin and Cyrillic; all other wikipedias with latin and cyrillic scripts use capital letter in the beginning of tagline and I believe that Greek tagline should work the same, so Η is the choice!
P.S. I was uploaded updated version of this file 10 years ago so I don't remember why I leaved minuscule η that time. Maybe I've made an updated png version a bit later. If nobody was complaining about png ver for 10 years then I guess that this version worked fine) let's hear from the Greek users --Orange-kun (talk) 19:14, 24 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Just checked -- yes, I've dedicated a bit more love to polish the png version that's why I have forgot to update svg version, sorry for confusing!--Orange-kun (talk) 19:21, 24 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Orange-kun awesome, thanks so much for updating the SVG. AHollender (WMF) (talk) 16:22, 26 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
