I believe this photograph is mis-identified. It looks like a Clark's Grebe to me, on the grounds that the bill is a bright yellow and the demarcation between white and dark feathers on the face falls just above the eye, not below it. Also, the flanks are paler than they usually are on a Western grebe. --EABaker (talk) 02:31, 10 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
