File talk:West Africa Ebola 2014 10 Reported Cases per Week Liberia.png
This graphic is inaccurate and misleading. a) The 5/11/14 WHO situation report gives 398 cases in the last 21 days. Whilst there may be arguments about the reliability of data, it cannot be right to publish plainly incorrect figures. b) the text relating to the supposed incorrectness of figures suggesting a leveling of cases (as at 9/10), even if correct at the time, cannot now be supported in the light of the recent WHO conclusion that "in Liberia [weekly incidence] it appears to be declining." See http://apps.who.int/iris/bitstream/10665/137510/1/roadmapsitrep_5Nov14_eng.pdf?ua=1 and in particular figure 2 c) At the very least this graphic appears to confuse weekly and daily incidence. If taken literally it overstates daily incidence by a factor of over 50.
The "26/10" data is even more misleading, it seems to be based on the 29/10 WHO report showing backwards revision of total case numbers. However the revision related to earlier periods and the same source http://apps.who.int/iris/bitstream/10665/137376/1/roadmapsitrep_29Oct2014_eng.pdf?ua=1 gave the figure for cases in the the previous 21 days as 867.
