Ferry

[edit]

The ferry would seem to be one of the similar ships Losna (built 1960, IMO 7398523), Firda (built 1961, IMO 7398494), Lote (built 1962, IMO 7398535), or Davik (built 1962, IMO 7398511). Early photos of them seem to be hard to find. The pattern of portholes down the sides of the ships do seem to vary somewhat between them. The Lote[1] has a bit different pattern than this photo, so it's not that one. The Firda *does* match[2]. Photos of the Davik seem particularly hard to find, though the pattern on the starboard side does seem to be different than the other ships.[3] The Losna seems different on the starboard side as well ([4] and File:MF Losna Fjord1 Fylkesbaatane Svortemyr (203214).jpg) but can't find any older photos of the port side to see if also matches. If the claimed 1960 date on the photo is correct, it could only be the Losna, since the others were not completed until later years. Was leaning toward it being the Firda since the porthole pattern does match, but could well also be the Losna, and an outside chance of the Davik. The "Bergen" on the side is the port of registry, but that was the same on all four vessels. Carl Lindberg (talk) 04:07, 11 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
