Ireland wasn't partitioned at this point, so Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland weren't constituent countries - they should be merged on the map and given one colour. Warofdreams (talk) 13:12, 23 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Warofdreams - thanks for the comment. Yeah I've been thinking about this one. You're absolutely right that Ireland wasn't partitioned at the time, so therefore the country - Ireland - should include all parts North & South, which were fairly consistently Home Rule/IPP. The reason I separated NI from South was because it voted so distinctively during the period, but I think you're probably right and the two should just be merged. Afterall if the point of this graphic is to show results 'by country,' then I can't really artificially just break off one part of Ireland (particularly as the references at the time would have been to 'Ulster,' as opposed to the boundaries of NI). Thanks - I agree the distinction is interesting, and a map which broke down some of the constituent nations by region could be useful - e.g. provinces of Ireland, some sort of regions of England - but it would be hard to decide which regions to use and collating figures would be time-consuming.
