RomanDeckert, thank you for uploading the image. I want to upload some pictures from the BnF site to, but according to what I was told in Hebrew Wikipedia, uploading images from this site as free content is not allowed. I am not an expert in copyrights, so I want to understand from someone who uploaded such content how I can do so myself. Thanks in advance, פעמי-עליון (talk) 22:20, 10 December 2022 (UTC)
- Dear פעמי-עליון, thank you for your message and interest to upload images from that wonderful resource page. It is a good question which I am afraid I cannot answer straightaway since it has been some time since I uploaded BnF images. Hence, I have to dig a little deeper into the issue, hope to be able to do it tonight, but it might take a few more days. What I can say now is that I am very confident that - in contrast to what you read on Hebrew Wikipedia - it is indeed legal to upload as free content from BnF. I do remember that I checked thoroughly at the time and it is also clear from the fac that there are hundreds of thousands scans from BnF-Gallica uploaded here: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Files_from_Gallica I shall try my best to send you the exact justification as soon as possible.
