not the 1931 Kentucky winner

I tried to categorize that one. It's not the Derby Winner of 1931 or the years before or after. I couldn't find anything on races other than the derby on Churchill downs at this time. Akinom (talk) 11:06, 15 March 2009 (UTC)

It's probably Omar Khayyam, 1917 winner

The markings are most consistent with the 1917 Derby winner Omar Khayyam, who was a chestnut and had white leg markings in the same places as this picture. It's also interesting that this might be the true Derby picture because the blanket number 8 matches his actual post position number.
