Parisian built in Glasgow 1880.

[edit]

Either the date on this photo is incorrect, or this is not a picture of the Parisian. According to http://retirees.uwaterloo.ca/~marj/genealogy/papers/allantour.html the Parisian was not due to sail before April 1881. According to http://search.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/sse.dll?indiv=1&=&f2=Parisian&db=passengerships&gss=angs-d&pcat=40&fh=0&h=10988&recoff= its maiden voyage was 10 March 1881. The ship was built in Glasgow, Scotland, so it couldn't be in Montreal in 1870.

The source for the photo says "about 1870", so the McCord Museum probably did its best to estimate its date. I've changed the date of the photo to circa 1885, which is still a guess, but likely more accurate than what it was. --Skeezix1000 (talk) 16:41, 4 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
