Foolish caption

[edit]

QUOTE: Tiyya women working in a coir making unit, from Kerala. in 1909 when the women from such castes didnt have the right to cover their breasts END OF QUOTE

Thiyyas are from Malabar. North Malabar Thiyyas of those times had a Greek bloodline in faint traces. South Malabar Thiyyas had some trace of Central Asian bloodline, possibly.

In 1909, Malabar was British Malabar. There were no such statutory restrictions on anyone covering the breast in British Malabar.

The fool who wrote the caption is mixing up history. This restriction was in Travancore kingdom, which was not inside British-India. 59.94.201.221 06:44, 11 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
