In response to Cacycle's concerns about the non-wedged hashed bond in this image, hashed bonds do not have to be wedged. The 2006 IUPAC recommendations prefer wedged hashed bonds, but unwedged hashed bonds are acceptable when unambiguous, as is the case in this image. When I drew this image, these recommendations had not been published - the previous guidelines specifically preferred the non-wedged bond.
