Nice image, but I think that the insets are labeled incorrectly. For h > 0, points on the (solid) blue curve represent global energy minima, while points on the red curve represent local energy minima (which cease to exist for large enough h). Likewise, for h < 0, the red curve gives the global minima, and the blue curve the local minima.
