According to Jaco Truter (a Stretocarpus expert), this image is not S. parviflorus. He believes it might instead be S. primulifolius (a species with varied flowers), or a hybrid of such.

Given that this image was taken at a botanical garden, I suggest that either the photographer of the gardens labelled this plant wrongly.

Here is a picture of S. parviflorus: http://www.gesneriads.ca/strept95.htm Here are pictures of S. primulifolius: http://www.gesneriads.ca/strep154.htm

I suggest relabelling this file.

I doublechecked (I always take a photo of the garden label), and the label definitely says "parviflorus" - but it wouldn't be the first time that one of my SFBG plants had a dubious id. Even so, I generally resist renaming the files, partly because it messes up my personal tracking system, plus unless a photograph clearly demonstrates the presence or absence of a key diagnostic feature, we're just guessing based on general appearance.
