This image is likely mislabeled and is actually a different species, tagetes patula. The source page has a number of images, all labeled tagetes erecta. However, they include an image of the very distinctive tagetes patula hybrid tagetes patula Harlequin (http://www.starrenvironmental.com/images/image/?q=24146354759) and a zinnia (http://www.starrenvironmental.com/images/image/?q=24963160021), also labeled there as tagetes erecta. While there are several images on that page which do stereotypically resemble tagetes erecta, this image used here isn't one of them.
