Hi, The words in the description list this as an eastern gray squirrel. I suspect that is just a typo because you put the image into the fox squirrel gallery.

I (non-expert) agree, that it is actually a fox squirrel. Whatever it is, it's a nice picture.

Probably not an eastern gray squirrel

Liné1 has put this squirrel into the eastern gray squirrel category (Sciurus carolinensis).

I am almost sure this is a fox squirrel (Sciurus niger). The image was originally put into the fox squirrel gallery by IvanTortuga. I think he was probably right to do that.

Consideration should be given to changing the categorization of this image, particularly if a person knowledgeable about squirrel identification could confirm this. --Davefoc (talk) 06:56, 14 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
