Attention! In this graphic, the axis designations are mixed up. In the stress-strain diagram, usually the abscissa (x-axis) indicates the strain and the ordinate (y-axis) indicates the stress. Thus, below the elastic limit, the Young's modulus can be read as the slope of the stress-strain line.
