Deletion or not

[edit]

The question in this case is whether this picture is to be considered original and artistic enough to pass the threshold for a "photographic work" (Swedish: fotografiskt verk) or if it is just to be defined as a "photographic picture" (Swedish: fotografisk bild) "such as images by the press". In the latter case a photo published in the 1950s would still be in PD no matter when the photograpgher died. /FredrikT (talk) 09:11, 17 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This is a simple photo. Just a snapshot. Nothing artistic about it. And definitely not a case for speedy deletion. Repeatedly tagging it as such, while refusing to make a DR is disruptive. /Pieter Kuiper (talk) 09:27, 17 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
This a work of high artistic quality by one of the great post-war photographers of Sweden. To publish it here would be a violation of swedish copyright laws. --Zejo (talk) 10:49, 17 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Please start a deletion request. Speedy deletions is only for things that do not need to be discussed. --MGA73 (talk) 18:12, 18 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think it needs to be discussed, but there are always people who will question the obviuos. --Zejo (talk) 19:00, 18 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Make a DR if you want this deleted, and you might risk to learn something. /Pieter Kuiper (talk) 19:51, 18 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
If you claim Sir, that "This is a simple photo. Just a snapshot. Nothing artistic about it", that speaks for itself. What is there to discuss? I am amazed to see this irresponsibilty in copyright matters and lack of understanding of photographic quality. If this isn't a photographic "work", then show me one. --Zejo (talk) 20:46, 18 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Here is a link that explains the difference between "fotgrafisk bild" and "fotgrafiskt verk" in swedish coyright law, something which is apparently needed. --Zejo (talk) 13:24, 20 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I have been in contact with Nordiska Museet, which keeps the originals of this and thousands more of Erik Liljeroth's photgraphs in their archive. They regard his pictures as "fotografiska verk" (photographic works) and would like to see this file removed. --Zejo (talk) 19:44, 22 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
