There are no Greek-speaking municipalities in Sicily. Here the Byzantine influence and the Greek-Catholic rite are deliberately confused with the Grecophony. The Byzantine rite and the ancient liturgical Greek language have disappeared (if they ever existed) for centuries and centuries in the blue municipalities.
