Proprietary visuals and elements
[edit]Uploaded a new version of the file, where removed only those proprietary visuals and elements that I recognized as such. Replaced YouTube and "program tv" site icons in browser tabs with a "generic" site icon from bookmarks; I must admit that only after uploading I realized that the actual "default" website icon in tabs and the address bar is different from default bookmark icons, so the image is not 100% faithful to the original screenshot, which means that a future edit of the file may have the following options for the "default" icon space:
- it's empty, usually replaced with some colour, which makes it look ugly;
- replaced with the default theme background, which degrades website icon visibility in a tab;
- a special effect which changes the icon so much that any likeness to the proprietary original is not discernible (probably the best option).
A suspect item in terms of whether it's completely free or not is the flag on the right side of the address bar; It might belong to non-free software, but could also be part of SeaMonkey or a free software add-on. -Mardus (talk) 11:42, 20 November 2011 (UTC)
Extensions and themes
[edit]- Adblock Plus is licensed under MPL.
- Although Walnut theme for SeaMonkey is licensed under MPL 1.1,[1] then icon art is from one or more themes at art.gnome.org/themes/icon, several of which have different licenses with different conditions on reuse. It is not clear which icons were lifted from which themes. -Mardus (talk) 14:28, 20 November 2011 (UTC)
