This image is held by the Moorland-Spingarn Research Center at Howard University, which identifies the subject of the photo as Robert Morris: dh.howard.edu/pp_asalh/85/. It is sometimes misidentified as Macon B. Allen, who was another early African American lawyer in Boston. The fact this photo shows Morris, not Allen, is confirmed by J.
