Correction needed

NEEDS TO BE CORRECTED: Spain should be "rounding-up the bill, not expected". Source: I'm Spanish and e.g. http://www.totallyspaintravel.com/2014/04/28/tipping-in-spain/ — Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.13.32.122 (talk • contribs) 19:32, 28 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

BRAZIL is 10% voluntary but highly expected in restaurants, there is plenty of evidence in the Internet http://www.rio-de-janeiro-travel-information.com/tipping-in-brazil.html https://www.feriasbrasil.com.br/ideias/blog/post.cfm?IDConteudo=052119299495 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Xexeo (talk • contribs) 04:51, 2 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Australia

[edit]

To answer the questions on Australia, I have lived there before, and people generally do not tip. It's certainly not offensive if you do so, and people will accept it, but the locals usually don't do it, and you won't be expected to. The dog2 (talk) 15:16, 4 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@The dog2: ✓ Done I've fixed it. I've only seen tipping here done twice, both who seem to look like tourists. SHB2000 (talk) 03:25, 23 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@SHB2000: I wonder if you can also update for some other countries. Singapore would be in the same category as China in this regard, as would Malaysia and New Zealand. Thailand needs to be corrected to the same category as Australia, and I will say Indonesia, Vietnam, Myanmar, Hong Kong, Macau and Costa Rica all fall into the same category as Australia. And I think the UK should be corrected to "10-15%, expected" as well. The dog2 (talk) 19:18, 10 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@The dog2 Sure. I'll do it when I'm on my other computer (I don't have a text editor on my current). Can do within a few days. SHB2000 (talk) 23:48, 12 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I live in New Zealand and tipping is never done by locals. The societal practice is considered inappropriate by most people. Tips from foreigners who feel compelled to tip due to their home culture would be accepted in the spirit they are given, it would be odd but not offensive to a local. 2404:4404:2732:BA00:FDBD:5EC4:81D4:71C2 11:47, 12 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

"Punished"

[edit]

The table below the map has two columns both titled "punished". What is the difference between them? Furius (talk) 18:19, 22 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
