Ford assembly
89 Courtenay Place, Wellington—2013
The arrow points to the top of the 9-storey building

Hi again Schwede66. The description is I suppose accurate enough up to a point as I believe it is the old assembly building but it is the almost anonymous back and only the bit of that that sticks out above surrounding buildings.

Ford, however, are still I think very much in residence. I haven't tried this before but here is my attempt to show the front to that backside and I believe (correct me if I'm wrong) it all still belongs to the (descendants of the) original owners and it is the head office of their chain of Ford and Mazda dealerships throughout New Zealand. Again correct me if I'm wrong but I think the use of the photo and independently the caption on Ford Motor Co both give misleading views. This Hope Gibbons building is for bicycles.

The image description is just under-informed isn't it. But it may be accessed by a puzzled reader of the FoMoCo NZ article. Its use in that article should not be under-informed. What are your thoughts? Eddaido (talk) 00:56, 18 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Most of the image description is from the original text on flickr (follow the link on the image page to get to it). What I did was to try and figure out which building it actually is; I used Streetview to find it. Once I had found it, I spotted that the Ford article had a photo of the building, but it was a hopeless night shot. Hence I replace it in that article. If anything is wrong anywhere, please feel free to fix it as you see fit; I have no particular knowledge of any of those details. Schwede66 07:57, 18 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Well, can you tell me the reason for adding this picture to the Ford article, is the Ford logo of interest? The previous picture shows the building is still prominent - if difficult to photograph! If the vision isn't good enough just click on the image. There it is again up above here. I think it is a much more informative shot than your replacement. I fixed your description on what you called a "Barraud" image, did you notice? Have you visited Wellington? You won't find Otaki there like you put in the category. I think it was your caption I altered some months ago which put Oriental Bay in Mt Victoria, or was it the other way around? Cheers, Eddaido (talk) 13:32, 19 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
