You're right – those are the notes in the rhapsody. However, I think the motif was transposed to the same key as the original theme to make the inversion clearer, as most general listeners probably wouldn't distinguish the key the notes sound in. The way the motif moves, rather than the absolute pitches it uses, would be more important to them. Hope this helps, RainCity471 13:06, 14 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
