Kittens or Leverets?

[edit]

I wonder if this picture is not of a rabbit nest, but of a hare nest. Baby rabbits (kittens) are born naked, blind, and their nests are usually underground; on the other hand, baby hares (leverets) are born furred, with open eyes that can see, and their nests are usually aboveground.
