Doubts over the event pictured

I highly doubt that the pictured event is w:1991 Soviet Union referendum as:

  1. Lithuania boycotted the referendum;
  2. the date of picture is February 19, 1991, while the w:1991 Soviet Union referendum took place on March 17, 1991.

The picture might be actually of w:1991 Lithuanian independence referendum, which happened on February 9, 1991. Powermelon (talk) 06:36, 14 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
