A very small point but this photo appears to be of a "fly-off" rather than a mission. Notice how the Vigilantes are on both cats and lined up for sequential launches. I see at least 4 and maybe 5 Vigies in line for the cats. I was in RVAH-5 at the time and the only time I remember this many birds launched at the same time is when they were going home to Sanford, FL at the end of a cruise or perhaps after carrier qualifications. We had a total of only 6 RA5C's onboard and missions were usually one or two planes.
