There is a bug in the software generating the thumbnail (imagemagick?), failing to render svg textpath. The curved text renders correctly when opening the image file directly in the browser (works for me in firefox). This probably means that using textpath in svg files is useless for the purposes of Wikipedia for now, a workaround would be overlaying svg textpath elements over the png thumbnail directly on the page where the image is used. --Dbachmann (talk) 10:39, 11 June 2014 (UTC)
