And the map is about all of Asia, and was produced in Germany in the 1930s: I doubt that the cartographer had the capabilities to study Taiwanese souvereignity claims that much. They likely relied on the reports that China took Formosa from Spanish and Dutch and made it a Chinese province, just like they said all of the Philippines was first Spanish and then British. If you go through all old maps with a fine comb, you won't ever stop finding small errors; this is not an inaccuracy that puts the entire map in question. --Enyavar (talk) 10:15, 2 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
