@Geek3: I am loving all your pictures. One question here though, do you have a reference for this circuit? It might produce the right matrix but I think the whole point of Margolus gate is that you can derive a Toffoli-like gate with a simpler formula than a Toffoli (without using Toffoli itself). So I wonder if there is a better circuit for this. I have now checked that equation (2) of Song and Klappenecker 2003 reproduces the Margolus gate, where the G gate is just a Ry rotation on pi/4. Maybe this would be a better representation. --ReyHahn (talk) 10:06, 25 September 2022 (UTC)ReyHahn (talk) 09:49, 25 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi RayHahn, in this case the representation is rather obvious. Of course there are other circuits with the same functionality, which may be computationally more efficient. The representation with four G-gates may be more efficient, because it requires no three-qubit gates, but as a reader it is almost impossible to understand what it does. Therefore, I would not prefer that representation. Sure, if another representation is more clear or more canonical, let's upload that as well and swap the image in the article. --Geek3 (talk) 11:10, 25 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
