The graph is misleading, since the rising lines imply that between each "bending point", the largest known prime grew as time passed.

The graph should only consist of horizontal lines (where time passes without a larger prime being discovered) and vertical lines (where the largest known prime changes "instantly"). -- pne (talk) 12:57, 28 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The graph should be updated. https://www.mersenne.org/primes/press/M77232917.html --Rlevente (talk) 12:45, 5 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

This image is a de facto duplicate of https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Digits_in_largest_prime_2016.svg. Since this graph requires updating over time, I strongly suggest only one image is kept at wikimedia. The referred image is also my preferred one, since it is SVG, contains axis labels and has a nice Python re-plotting script attached. Also its name is more descriptive. --FDominec (talk) 11:02, 24 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
