Image source dubious - and better version available

It's doubtful the DOE produced this image. More likely it's a promotional marketing photo, produced by GM. While this tiny thumbnail was hosted on a DOE page (http://web.archive.org/web/20131031064549/http://www1.eere.energy.gov/vehiclesandfuels/facts/favorites/fcvt_fotw128.html), a much larger version can be seen here: https://static1.hotcarsimages.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/prec.jpg The page hosting that indicates they sourced it from Getty, but since I don't know if Getty could have bought the rights to it from GM, I find Getty's claim almost as dubious. Is there a way Wiki Commons can legitimately use the larger image? (Rhetorical inquiry, since I don't have an account. Just wanted a better pic of a neat car.) 67.133.63.98 01:47, 2 May 2024 (UTC)
