Nonsense illustration, nonsense text

[edit]

This is NOT a picture from an illuminated manuscript:

The source is NOT a manuscript, but a printed book.

The illustration is NOT an illumination, but a copperplate print.

The title and the year of the used source are NOT indicated.

The picture is NOT a pope's portrait: in the early sixth century there were no popes, only bishops of Rome.

And last but not least: This is NOT a portrait of Hormisdas.

An illustration created in the sixteenth or seventeenth century is worthless as a "portrait" of a person that lived in the sixth century. It is a pure invention. You can use it, by equal reasons, as a portrait of Snow White or Asterix.

A masterpiece: seven errors in a picture and a few words!

I propose to cancel the picture, or to correct the legend that should say that it is a fantasy product, thousend years after the life of Hormisdas.--Cantakukuruz (talk) 19:49, 10 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
