Hi,

great workǃ

The label "Pomeranian", "Volhynian" and "Silesian" in the map are in my oppinion not accurate. As you know in Polish there is an adjectivation of names. For Example "Silesian Voivodeship" from "Silesia" and "Pomeranian Voivodeship" from the land of "Pomerania". Then you de-adjectivicate the names in English for the map (what i believe is absolute correct) like you simply use the name of the cities or lands like "Lwow" or "Polesie" then you need to do it for all Voivodeships. So it would be "Pomerania", "Silesia" and "Volhynia" in the map.

  • I disagree. The map is quite OK the way it is. The names of regions named after provincial capitals: i.e. of Lwow, Stanislawow, Tarnopol, remain unchanged. But there was no city of Volhynia (or Silesia) so the Volhynian and the Silesian are fine the way they are. Poeticbent talk 20:48, 10 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Oravská Polhora

[edit]

Hello, this map is absoleutly amazingly detailed! I was checking your other map - PolishRepublicAdminMap1930.png and saw multiple territorial changes in Slovakia. I found the source for all of them except one. I went on Google Maps and found out that it is the very Northern tip of a town called Oravska Polhora and the border may have went along local mountains and a river called Polhoranka. Where did you find this change documented or mapped? MicholIsUsed (talk) 07:54, 7 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @MicholIsUsed, thanks for the kind words :) The source material comes from the WiG map archive here XrysD TALK 18:32, 13 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much!!!!! Never would have thought there was so much minor border change in Slovakia and Poland back then. Thanks! MicholIsUsed (talk) 14:11, 15 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
