@99of9: Hello, new to Commons here. I just noticed that this is actually a picture of Platanthera psycodes, a sister species to P. grandiflora. This is identifiable by the more spreading rostellum lobes, as well as the broader, more rectangular orifice (as opposed to the narrower, rounder orifice of P. grandiflora). It seems that the original uploader on the French Wikipedia is no longer active, so I'm not sure how I would contact them about renaming this file (or whether that would be in accordance with Wikimedia guidelines). Could you help me figure out what the best course of action is? Best regards, JadeSpire (talk) 04:48, 3 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

PS: I am applying for a username change, so I may end up getting back to you under a different username. :) JadeSpire (talk) 04:48, 3 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, also, if the image cannot be renamed, is it ok to change the description of the file? JadeSpire (talk) 05:24, 3 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@JadeSpire: Welcome to Commons! There are some instructions here Commons:File_renaming. You're certainly welcome to improve (correct) the description of any file. And yes, a factual correction is grounds for a change in filename. Thanks for contributing your expertise! --99of9 (talk) 05:50, 3 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
