Sorry, I don’t master the Spanish language. That is why I write my comments in English.

The image needs several corrections.

The carbon rod is not an electrolyte but an electrode. A main ingredient in the electrolyte is ammonium chloride or zinc chloride. In the similar alkaline battery type, the electrolyte contains potassium hydroxide.

The zinc must not have contact to the carbon rod (connected to the positive pole). The zinc must have contact to the negative pole. One design of the similar alkaline battery type employs zinc paste in contact with a brass rod connected to the negative pole.

The mixture of manganese dioxide/carbon(or graphite) must have contact to the carbon rod and the positive pole.

Is there an air chamber in this type of battery? Anny how there must be an electrical insulation between the positive and negative poles.

The right orange part seems to show a positive sign (+). It is unclear if the orange area is part of the anode or cathode. --Stenallan (talk) 23:10, 29 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
