Identification

[edit]
Judging by the funnels, from the list of Italian cruisers at www.navypedia.org, it would have to be either the "Condottieri 3rd group" or the "Condottieri 4th group". Between the two, the front bridge tower seems different, with the 4th group seemingly having an enclosed band where the bridge area protrudes from the rest of the tower. This can be seen in the photo File:Destructor italià Eugenio di Savoia.jpg, whereas that area on File:Raimondo Montecuccoli SLV Green.jpg seems to show a tower without that type of protrusion. In this photo you can see the silhouette of the protrusion, so it would seem to be one of the two ships in the 4th group, the Eugenio di Savoia or the Emanuele Filiberto Duca d`Aosta. In looking at the area where the lower hull rises from where it is in the middle of the ship up to the level it is at the bow, there is an identifiable difference between the two ships -- in the Emanuele Filiberto Duca d`Aosta, it rises up to the top level quickly, while on the other it goes up in two steps. The photo in question has the two steps. Carl Lindberg (talk) 06:42, 29 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
