Identification

P. davidsonii is a better match, I think. "Fls blue-lavender to purple-violet, ... lvs glab but not glaucous." P. rupicola has flowers "pink or nearly red to pink-lavender or rose-purple...; lvs evidently glaucous and often shortly spreading-hairy." Hitchcock p. 433. File:Penstemon rupicola (1).jpg, by the same photographer, fits the latter description and appears to be correctly identified. --Walter Siegmund (talk) 05:11, 13 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
