This diagram is wrong. The last 2 steps should have an additional 1/n! term.

The correct proof is:

   det(AB)
   = 1/n! |=AB=|
   = 1/n!^2 |=A=|=B=|
   = 1/n! |=A=| 1/n! |=B=|
   = det(A) det(B)

where |=...=| is my ascii shorthand for the diagramatic part.
