Me and some friends were recently in Notre Dame and accidentally stumbled into a courtyard where this exact painting was in a shrine. Shortly thereafter we were escorted out by police because this courtyard was a restricted area in the cathedral. In hindsight this is understandable because the painting was not behind any type of barrier and was completely in the open. I have tried to find information about this painting but have been unsuccessful other than its age and that it was once in the athos Greek monastery. Does anyone know more about this particular painting?
