Taxonomic Name

This illustration was correctly identified in the 1903 book (Records of Big Game) as Oryx leucoryx, which at the time named the Scimitar-horned Oryx. However, this taxonomic name was transferred to the Arabian Oryx in that same year. Both have been called "White Oryx", but this illustration and the range description accompanying it in the book are of a Scimitar-horned Oryx, not an Arabian Oryx.
