[edit]Nicaragua resigned from being part of the OAS after the 2021 elections--Contribuyendo para el bien de la humanidad (talk) 19:22, 26 March 2022 (UTC)
- @Contribuyendo para el bien de la humanidad: The process for leaving the OAS takes two years at least. --NoonIcarus (talk) 12:19, 27 March 2022 (UTC)
- Oppose @NoonIcarus: This is really a different situation by Venezuela, as far as I've read the Washington Post news regarding OAS, Venezuela's seat of OAS, as well as their delegate, both are currently being controlled by Juan Guaidó "acting government", which they are exiled to the Colombia border area. how is there any same situation within Nicaragua? Sorry but I really can't see any news posts regarding it. Liuxinyu970226 (talk) 14:28, 4 May 2022 (UTC)
- Anyway, the OAS office in Venezuela did not closed even by Maduro. Liuxinyu970226 (talk) 14:32, 4 May 2022 (UTC)
- How is this different? Maduro announced Venezuela leaving the OAS, starting a two year process. Once it expired they declared that the country had effectively left the organization, which is the first reason why Venezuela is currently painted in yellow. If it hadn't been for Guaidó, it would be in red; how is that different from Nicaragua? --NoonIcarus (talk) 14:59, 4 May 2022 (UTC)
- @NoonIcarus But then, how can OAS still act their roles within Nicaragua after their government's decision to close OAS office? On a bedroom of a NI hotel? Liuxinyu970226 (talk) 23:06, 23 September 2022 (UTC)
- I'm sorry, but I fail to see how that is related to Nicaragua's membership in the OAS. Just like there is a process to join the organization, there is one to leave it, and it cannot be done only unilaterally, plain and simple. This is the same convention that was used for Venezuela. --NoonIcarus (talk) 13:48, 27 September 2022 (UTC)
