The place where this photography has took place is "prohibited for photography" as per thr rules of Radio Astronomy Centre (A TIFR institute.), M.Palada, Ooty. How come the user upload such picture without stating permission. --Gauri Wur Sem (talk) 06:11, 23 January 2014 (UTC)
- Hi, I don't remember seeing any Photography Prohibited signs rear the telescope. Even if there were, I am not sure how it will affect the license status of the image itself. Will ask a commons admin to look into it -- Razimantv (talk) 09:33, 23 January 2014 (UTC)
- Even if photography was prohibited there, that's as per Indian civil laws. Wikimedia foundation only worries about copyright laws. As long as the uploader has released it under a valid free license, we are allowed to host it here. --Sreejith K (talk) 13:56, 23 January 2014 (UTC)
