Notes on renaming

[edit]

Summary: this is a west dwelling in Shakertown, not the West Lot outside of town. I'll get the title changed and use the Historic District refnum instead.

Detail: This is not the Shaker West Lot Farmhouse as the title says. That building is 3/4 mile away from the center of Shakertown. As the description says, the photo is of one of dwellings to the west of the center of Shakertown at 68(n/s) and 33(e/w). It is called the old town shop in the Shakertown at Pleasant Hill Historic District nomination, and old stone shop(20) on the Shaker Village tourist map. It is called "Shaker West Family Dwelling House (First), North side of Village Road, North of U.S. Route 68 & State Route 33 intersection, Shakertown, Mercer County, KY" in the original HABS photo description. One distinct difference is the single chimney on each end of the house in this photo. The nomination for the house says "6/6 windows in the attic between the chimneys", i.e., double chimneys on each side. The photos included with the nomination show the double sided chimneys.
