This is the former Marine Exchange Lookout Station at Point Lobos. The station keepers reported all shipping, commercial and government, in and out of the bay and reported it back to the Marine Exchange office on the City's waterfront. William S. Morrissey and Julius Larsen primarily maintained the station from 1927 to 1966.
